Feb 05, 2010 · I signed my passport in blue ink, using one of those Pilot roller pens. I used my regular signature, the same way I sign my checks. Needless to say, there was absolutely no issue when I travelled overseas. You can sign Federal documents in any ink color, except for red. Only the President has the authority to use red ink on Federal documents.
Aug 30, 2015 · I believe a rollerball is like the Nespresso to the fountain pen's espresso. Slightly worse - but much better than ball point pens. But the best part that I like about rollerballs is how you can get an expensive experience in a cheap pen. For example Mont Blanc refills can be hacked to fit a cheap G2

Other types of pens—ballpoints and gels—are almost never affected by altitude changes the way rollerballs are. So the cheapest way to have a "airplane-safe" pen is to buy a ballpoint (like a Bic) or a gel pen (like a PIlot G2). You remember ballpoints, of course.

Aug 31, 2020 · My two choices are the Uniball Signo 207, which will set you back about $0.75 per pen, or the Pilot G2, which will set you back about the same amount. Both write exquisitely well, both come in a variety of line widths, both never seem to leak on me, and both never seem to clog up on me, either.
